Monday 3rd November – Windsurf *** River Orwell at Levinngton –
mainly cloudy.

mile, 36.80 km., 15.09 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt
5.7.
Three wingers were heading to Levington at 8 to make the most of the 9.17
high water but I was in no hurry to get there as I am not bothered about
high water and the weather was supposed to improve to sunny perionds at 10!
So Mag and I went to Lidl for a big shop as the light rain started! Mag
said she would come with me today for her walk as she missed out o her
early prom stroll as it was raiing. So after breakfast I put some things in
a bag for lunch and we left Felixstowe around 9.30 and three wingers were
out but it did not look overly inviting but I think they were using small
wings, cloudy too with no sign of sunny periods:( Parking is tight at the
marinna and going to get worse when all the pontoons at our end of the
marina have been removed, with three vehicles all ready there I had to park
nnear the large crane which was not a problem, my foil board was quickly
onn the small launch beach with the tide already starting to drop. The wind
was all over the place gusting to 20 mph so I rigged my 5.7 and launched as
the three wingers were ending their session. To start with I played hunt
the gust just to the left of the marina, flying in patches in nice flat
water hoping the wind would fill in? I slowly beat out to the middle of the
river and the wind did pick up and I had several cracking long runs down
towards Pin Mill ending up getting a nice top speed, average, mile and
alpha. The wind was easing, the tide dropping and I had been onn the water
a couple of hours so it was time to call it a day. I got back to the van at
the same time Mag returned from her nice walk around Loompit lake and
beyond! It was pretty dark so I packed up before heading for a shower
before returning to the van for lunch before heading for home, I did stop
to take a pic of the yellow Harwich foot ferry moored at the marina and
spotted a kingfisher:) I was sorting todays photo’s out when we got a
message from Jay saying would we like a visit so ended up getting a bonus
visit from Maeva and she was full of fun and did loads of crafts:) Another
breezy day tomorrow so I might head to Levington early so I can get back
for a visit to Mary’s!
